Depending on the season you can find great deals on Cape Town accommodation, Durban hotels, Johannesburg accommodation, Pretoria accommodation, Port Elizabeth accommodation and other accommodation in South Africa.

Our Top Choices & Money Saving Tips For Accommodation In South Africa

Cape Town Accommodation

Cape Town has large numbers of hotel, guesthouse, and bed and breakfast rooms.
But in peak season availability becomes a big problem. Peak season is from mid December to January. Book your Cape Town accommodation as early as possible if you want to visit Cape Town during this time. For some places that means reserving more than a year in advance.

Cape Town also is a fast growing international conference and convention center, especially in February, March and November. So if you happen to be booking during one of these times you may have to be flexible (most of the accommodation at the V& A Waterfront will be booked if it is a big convention). So again you’ll be well advised to reserve early.

Durban Accommodation and Hotels

Like Cape Town, Durban accommodation includes large numbers of hotel rooms. But Durban has far fewer guesthouse and bed and breakfast accommodation than Cape Town. So during peak season availability becomes a big problem in Durban as well. Peak season is from mid December to January. So if you want to get a Durban hotel during this time then you need to book accommodation as soon as possible.

Johannesburg & Pretoria Accommodation

Johannesburg, THE big city of South Africa, is more a business city than a tourist one. It does however have very interesting historic and cultural sites, like the Mandela Musuem, the Apartheid Museum and the Cradle of Humankind, a World Heritage Site.

It is also the shopping capital of Africa. Many Africans from other countries flock to Johannesburg to shop throughout the year, and especially at Christmas.

Though it has a reputation for being unsafe, we lived in Johannesburg from 1993 through 2006 and thank God never had a problem. Having said this, be alert. You are in a big city that does have crime. And some of the best weather on earth – well over 300 days of brilliant sunshine with low humidity. So especially if you are in transit to Cape Town or safari and want good, convenient accommodation South Africa's big city is a great option. Pretoria Accommodation

Pretoria is the executive capital of South Africa.
It is where the President of South Africa has his executive offices, the Union Buildings. It is a lovely city, a lot quieter than bustling Johannesburg.

Pretoria is also known as the Jacaranda City because of it has thousands of those trees lining its streets. Thirty miles north of Johannesburg, both cities are about the same driving distance from Johannesburg International Airport (now OR Tambo International Airport) so you can stay in either.
