Visiting at these times avoids the peak season but still gives you great weather.Visitors to Cape Town in winter will get great deals.
Cape Town accommodation
occupancy levels drop dramatically in winter. Though winter is when it rains in Cape Town, you do get times of glorious sunshine and it is a verdant city during this time. Winter is also the best time for
whale watching
and for seeing the great white sharks.
Winter also happens to be the best time for
South African safaris.
So there are great reasons to go on your South Africa tour during the South Africa winter (May to August). In winter, you can also spend your time in the Cape Wine Lands where it is both warmer and drier then it is in Cape Town city itself.
