Even though Durban has large numbers of hotel rooms, when it is peak season availability becomes a big problem.

Peak season is from mid December to January. So if you want to visit Durban during this time then you need to book accommodation as soon as possible.

Since Durban is the top holiday destination for local South Africans anytime there are school holidays, availability is going to be a potential problem. So avoid the school holidays!

1. Remember accommodation in Durban is in high demand from South African tourists during from mid December to early January. This is peak season.
