We've been on over 80 African tours and safaris, but we always look forward to vacationing in Mozambique.

Having lived in neighboring South Africa since 1993, and with my wife being a local, we have watched Mozambique regain its status as a great beach holiday destination for South Africans and Europeans.

Rather than being just an emerging safari destination,
Mozambique has superb scenery that includes secluded exotic tropical islands. It also has rich African culture, European charm and a long beautiful coastline.

On our most recent visit to Mozambique we experienced the best exotic island holiday we have ever experienced. We were in the Quirimbas Archipelago, a necklace of beautifully secluded islands along Mozambique�s northernmost coast.

The setting is sublime, the reefs wonderful, the waters warm & clear with thousands of shades of aquamarine, indigo, azure.

We snorkeled, swam, sunbathed, talked and ate wonderful seafood. We even visited Ibo Island to see the old Portuguese slave castles and learn more about the local African culture. The beach at Ibo Island is not great but my wife loved the beautiful handmade silver jewelry.

Because of the long civil war, and the necessity of the people to hunt wildlife,
Mozambique is not the best place to have a wildlife safari right now. The Transfrontier Park that will incorporate South Africa�s Kruger National Park and parts of Mozambique is still being implemented.

It will take time for the animals to realize that they are safe in Mozambique. And it will take time for the wildlife safari infrastructure to be built � safari lodges, roads, airstrips.

So for a while at least, Mozambique will best be considered a wonderful exotic tropical island addition to your African safari.

How We Work: The first itinerary is free & it will be based on your interests & budget. After that we offer a service where by we continue to work with you to get you the best trip for the price you want to pay. To do that we require a $150 USD deposit that is applied to your trip (without regard to the number in your traveling party). If you don�t take your trip it is non refundable. You pay that via Paypal.
