South Africa Resorts: Durban – City, North and South Coasts South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal coast offers excellent beach holidays. In this subtropical stretch of coastline, the temperatures never drop below 16 degrees C (61 degrees F) and the Indian Ocean is kept warm by the Mozambique current. This makes it the most popular holiday destination for local South Africans.Beachfront hotel developments run both north and south of Durban as well as within the city of Durban itself. Durban is a lovely city to visit, offering very good museums, arts and crafts, restaurants and a blend of cultures –
Zulu African culture

South Africa Resorts: Plettenberg BayIn December, this beautiful bay with its gentle waves is filled with wealthy South Africans on their annual seaside pilgrimage. Out of season, it is wonderful in another sense. Whales calf here in late June to October. Best of all, if you are like us and love pristine nature, you have several kilometers of white sand to yourself. And you are in a great position to explore the mystical Tsitsikamma Mountains. This area also is known for the world's highest commercial bungee jumps. Plus it has a great number of

South Africa Resorts: Hermanus – Whale Coast Another enclave of the wealthy, Hermanus offers a large lagoon, a long white beach, deep rock pools and extraordinary coastal fynbos (an indigenous plant that looks like heather). It is one of South Africa’s premier holiday resorts. Summer is great here with lots of quaint shops to browse in as you take a break from sunbathing or beach combing. If you are interested in whale watching – the World Wide Fund for Nature has recognized it as one of the world’s 12 premier whale watching spots -- the best times to visit are autumn and spring when whales are in Walker Bay. Humpback, Bryde’s and Minke whales make occasional appearances. But the bay is mostly visited by Southern Right whales.

South Africa Resorts: Port Elizabeth and Jeffrey’s BayPort Elizabeth is often viewed as either the beginning or end of the famous Garden Route. However the city has a safe and warm beach, plus there are more than a dozen beaches in and around Port Elizabeth (PE). King’s Beach is ideal for safe swimming, bodysurfing and walking. It also has good family facilities – a supertube, kiddies’ playground, mini golf course. The excellent roads mean that this is a
great self drive family adventure vacation.
Not too far away (75 km or 46 miles) is the mythical Jeffrey’s Bay (J-Bay). The setting for the ‘60’s movie Endless Summer, this is a top destination if you are a surfer.
