As incredible as it may seem, most travel agents who sell trips to Africa or African safaris have never been to Africa. If they have been to Africa, it has for a few free educational trips.

So they don’t have the breadth of experience to help you evaluate what is best for you.

Online safari tours and websites generally sell just the safari lodges or camps they own, or get a special deal with which may or may not be the best for you, your interests or your budget.

Hopefully we will be of help. We tell you about the places we have experienced. We’ve lived in South Africa since 1993, have been on over 80 safaris and travel extensively through Africa. Here are the questions we would ask in considering an Africa safari or vacation. And to avoid costly mistakes when selecting African adventures & safaris

Our Top 3 Questions To Ask East African Safari Tour Operators

  • 1. Ask the East African safari tour operator how many passengers will be in the game viewing vehicle with you
  • 2. Ask how many kilometers of driving you will be doing per day (if a road safari)
  • 3. Ask how many kilometers there are between the places on the tour operator’s itinerary (if a road safari)

Here are additional questions we’d ask:

  • • Ask if the East Africa safari tour operator will have a 4x4 if you are traveling in rainy season
  • • Ask the East Africa safari tour operator how long it will take to travel between the points on the itinerary
  • • Ask if you will be grouped with strangers
  • • How much space will you have in the safari vehicle (how many will be in the vehicle, what are the number of seats in the vehicle)
  • • How much flexibility will you have if you want to stay out looking at animals longer
