South Africa’s climate varies depending on the part of the country you are in. Generally the country is warm and sunny. Summers (September through April) can be hot, winters (May through August) mild with snowfalls in mountainous areas and frost in Johannesburg, Pretoria and other parts of South Africa’s interior. In the winter it will be cold at night in these areas.
But each season has exceptional advantages – the winter is great for
South African safaris,
summer is glorious in Cape Town,
spring offers a sublime floral spectacle in Namaqualand.
