Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park is known worldwide as one of the world's greatest wildlife viewing locations. It is set in a desert-like landscape of a huge salt pan with surrounding mopane woodland. Though it is dry and flat, the animals love it.

There are 114 species of mammals and 340 birds species, as well as Africa's smallest animal, the Damara dik-dik and black-maned lions. At the start of the summer rainy season, thousands of zebras, wildebeest and giraffe come to the waterholes. It is also an important breeding ground for flamingos.
